APRIL® Face Aging Software at Science Gallery Ireland’s Fat Lab for Obesity Research
May 29, 2014 – Dublin, Ireland – Science Gallery Ireland’s current exhibit, “Fat Lab”, invited AprilAge to demo our APRIL® Face Aging Software to registrants taking part in the lab’s research. Worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980 and at least 2.8 million deaths per year are caused by obesity. FAT LAB is the latest installment in the LAB IN THE GALLERY series, offering Science Gallery visitors an opportunity to take part in real research experiments in the fields of immunology, physiology and neuroscience. It will look at the causes, treatment and behavioural interventions around obesity. Curated by Cliona O’Farrelly, Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute at Trinity College Dublin.
While at the Fat Lab, more than 100 face agings were done on visitors from around the world, showing them their “future self” – how they will age naturally compared to aging with obesity. APRIL is used in more than 25 countries as a tool in health education about chronic disease prevention and behavior change leading to healthier lifestyles.
